Law 15/1999 of 13 December on the Protection of Personal Data (Data Protection Act) is a Spanish Organic Law which aims to guarantee and protect, with regard to the processing of personal data, civil liberties and fundamental rights of individuals, and especially their honor, privacy and personal and family privacy.
Its main objective is to regulate the processing of data and files, personal, regardless of the medium on which they are treated, the rights of citizens on them and the obligations of those who create or deal.
